Only a handful of workrooms in the country manufacture custom handcrafted drapery, and the skilled craftspeople we employ have been making drapes for top interior designers for decades. The artisanship and time that go into making our drapery simply aren't offered by larger workrooms.
All of our drapery is constructed with ease of operation in mind. Our Ripple Fold, Tailored Pleat and Pinch Pleat styles are particularly easy to operate. Ripple Fold drapery glides on a tailored-to-match track system. Both Tailored and Pinch Pleat styles are made with a 4" buckram stiffener in each pleat that gives the drapes memory and allows them to open and close in a similar fashion each time. Hanging our Rod-Pocket drapery from rings increases their function and makes them easier to open and close.
It depends on the weight of the fabric and whether or not you select a lining. Our privacy, blackout and privacy with interlining options all provide an additional layer of insulation.
The light blockage and privacy you get from drapery is primarily the result of the material you select and the lining you choose. In general, the heavier the material, the more light it blocks. Adding a privacy liner with interlining will block the majority of light, and a blackout liner will block 99% of light.
Interlining gives the drapes more body and fullness. Most designers prefer drapery with interlining, as it improves the look of the drape.
We recommend professional drapery cleaning or dry cleaning. If you have questions regarding the care of your drapery, please contact us at 888.669.2809 or email@example.com.
There are multiple ways to obtain privacy. For drapery that doesn't need to open and close, use a single, stationary panel that covers an entire span. For other windows, choose a blackout liner – ours blocks out 99% of light and provides complete privacy as well as insulation. Alternatively, use double rods to layer drapery – hanging sheer panels behind heavier ones helps regulate light, noise, drafts and privacy.
We offer custom choices through our Custom Window Hardware program. You select the finials, brackets and finishes from the custom hardware collection that complements your room's scale and furnishings; we include the appropriate rods and brackets based on the drapery style and size you provide.
