Dustin Rousseau: Framework No. II
for General Public
Trained in architecture and inspired by the built world, Dustin Rousseau references the process of pouring concrete walls in his Formwork series. In construction, wood forms are used to support wet concrete and removed once the cement has cured, revealing gaps and marks. Similarly, Rousseau uses thickened paint, repetitive lines and deep mark-making to create highly textural surfaces.
General Public, a maverick art curation and publishing company based in LA, is revolutionizing the way we think about and collect art. Founded by Portia de Rossi, an actress, art collector and art world industry disruptor, General Public makes a radical proposition: that a painting shouldn't be enjoyed by just one collector, but should be available to all. The Synograph™, a groundbreaking 3-D technology created by the visionaries at General Public, redefines the limits of printing, recreating every detail of the original artwork with total fidelity. Each nuance of brushwork, texture and technique is captured, authentically revealing the artist's hand and their unique expression of beauty and emotion.
